Too many people are guilt-ridden creatures, this undermines us in so many ways. We can feel ashamed, humiliated, anxious, that we are ‘wrong’. Guilt can be toxic and soul destroying it can stop us from what we are truly meant to do and who we are truly meant to be.
In some cultures it is believed that a person’s errors causes disharmony in the body. For example if you carry anger or resentment this can make you feel stressed and unwell.
This autumn I am encouraging you to learn the Hawaiian art of Ho’oponopono (reconciliation and forgiveness) because when we forgive then we can become spiritually free.
Focus on letting go of anger, anxiety, resentment and other negative feelings that gnaw away (whether they are turned inwards to the self or outwards) is an empowering thing to do for yourself. Think of it as a mental cleanse.
Try this, find a quiet space and focus for a few minutes on what is making you feel anxious, angry or guilty. Get in touch with these negative emotions and try and really ‘feel’ them, then breathe out slowly and with purpose and let them go, (imagine them as clouds if you like) repeat to yourself softly the following –
Ho’oponopono mantra –

Repeat this mantra daily, and you will find the feelings of anxiety or guilt loosen up and you start to heal.
